Consolidated Glass Ginger Jar, Charleton Line AWCO, Hand Painted Flowers, 11"

Description

Here is a vintage Consolidated glass ginger jar, hand painted with blue and gold flowers. The milk glass jar was made by Consolidated, and the hand painted decoration was done by Abels Wasserburg & Co. for their Charleton Con Cora line in the 1940s. The blue enamel is a beautiful denim color, and the gold accents compliment the flowers, leaves and even a butterfly. These ginger jars were made in three sizes, and this is the largest, at approximately 11" with lid in place. The original Charleton foil sticker is in place with the number 8472. There are no cracks, or repairs. There are minimal flea bites on the inner rim of the opening of the jar, but these are not visible with the lid in place. The blue enamel paint is in wonderful condition, but there is some gold paint loss on the knob of the jar, approximately 50%. There is also some gold loss on the leaves (see all photos).
