George Gray (1840-1925) was born in New Castle, Delaware.
A graduate of
Princeton University and Harvard Law School
, he was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in 1863.
He served as
attorney general of Delaware
(1879-1885) before being elected to the U.S. Senate to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of
Senator
Thomas F. Bayard. Bayard
left his Senate seat to accept the Secretary of State post in the new United States President Grover Cleveland's cabinet. Gray completed Bayard's term and represented
Delaware as Senator for another two terms, in total from March 18, 1885 to March 3, 1899
. While a senator he served on the Committee on Revolutionary Claims (55th Congress), the Committee on Privileges and Elections (53rd Congress) and as Chairman of the Committee on Patents (53rd Congress).
Gray was appointed
judge of the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the third circuit
by President William McKinley and served from 1899 to 1914
. At the 1904 and 1908 Democratic National Conventions, Gray received votes to be the Party's nomination for the Presidency. In 1908, he came in second behind only nominee

Return Policy:
If any substantial defect not described in the item listing is found by the purchaser, the item(s) must be returned within 3 days of receipt. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express & PayPal. PayPal customers must have a confirmed address on file with PayPal. Customers must provide a daytime telephone number to be used in case of any shipping difficulties.

Shipping
- We ship via FedEx and USPS. Shipping charges are calculated at time of payment and are dependent on the number of items purchased and the destination shipping address.
